Passport Scanner (MRZ)

1. Overview

The Passport Scanner tool removes manual data entry errors by parsing the two-line Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) compliant with ICAO Doc 9303 standards. In fractions of a second, traveler legal names, passport numbers, nationalities, dates of birth, and expiry dates are extracted with checksum validation.

2. How to Access

Access the scanner at /tools/passport or choose Passport Scanner from the agent tools menu.

3. Key Features

• Dual Scanning Modes: Drag and drop scanned passport image files (JPEG, PNG, WebP) or activate your webcam for instant live desk scanning.
• Checksum Validation: Automatically validates ICAO check digits for the passport number, birth date, and expiry date to eliminate typos.
• Batch Processing: Upload multiple passports simultaneously for group bookings, Umrah groups, or family holiday packages.
• Traveller Database Sync: Scanned travelers can be saved directly to your CRM client database or exported to Excel.

4. Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open the Passport Scanner page at /tools/passport.
2. Drag and drop the traveler's passport photo page or take a photo using the live camera feed.
3. Ensure the two lines at the bottom of the page (e.g. P<IND...) are clearly visible and free of reflections.
4. Review the extracted fields on screen and click Save to Traveler Records.
